TECHNICAL SUPERVSION, MAINTENANCE OF PURIFYING PROCESSES AND PLANT ENGINEERING
Managing wastewater treatment plants has always been one of the core activities of our business. We’ve been managing more than 250 wastewater treatment plants of the most varied types, on behalf of municipalities and private companies, too.
Management and routine maintenance of wastewater treatment plants is an essential activity aimed to ensure the purifying efficiency of a plant, the longevity of equipments, but enable important resource and energy savings throughout the process. A water purifier is a machine that functions 24 hours a day and, therefore, it needs to be operated by skilful hands for continuous maintenance. The operator shall know every single part of the plant, in order to execute the required operations rapidly and be ready to face any inconvenience.
Biological sewage plants, for example, are based on the purifying capacity of bacterial colonies. These are highly sensitive living beings as for external conditions and toxic substances: the operator shall prevent, identify and eliminate any possible biological dysfunction, also by means of sophisticated technologies available. The same applies to chemical-physical treatments, where it is required a special attention in order to obtain the best results with the minimum consumption of reagents.
The implementing body shall master competencies that include mechanic, hydraulic, electrical engineering, electronics, chemistry, biology, without forgetting all the complex regulatory aspects concerning the wastewater treatment sector.
Since the number of plants we are currently managing is very high, and, therefore, the considerable amount of technical/process data we collect every day, we have completely computerised the storage and management of said data by means of a proprietary software, called CID Cloud, which processes all the technical information of our plants (dimensions and functioning, features of relevant equipments...). We also gather the single events connected to the managing activity (data and analytical measurements, energetic consumption, defects etc.), in order to support the supervisory staff in scheduling the activity on site. The software, on a WEB platform, manages the operability and planning of interventions. Operators on site have access to the application thanks to portable devices, so that they can input new information gathered during interventions, refer to event data and add new activities. We put at your disposal all the abovementioned information by accessing the same platform with the client’s credentials.
In order to guarantee the due promptness, CID adopts, where possible, remote-control and remote-management systems.
Beside reducing in number and possibly avoiding any critical situation due to faults or exceptional occurrences, it improves the supervisory activity of processes and management, since these systems also supply specific parameters (dissolved OX, flow rates, pH, turbidity, etc...) and the functioning of all the equipments. Moreover, some of them also allow to modify the functioning settings in automation (functioning times, set point values, alarm resets, etc...).
DESIGN OF CIVIL AND INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS
The extensive experience acquired over the many years of activity allows CID to offer a planning and advice service to the industrial designers in charge of realising the purifiers.
Only those who have been managing wastewater treatment plants for decades can know the main requirements of a plant and, most importantly, the equipments it must necessarily have to ensure an efficient and reliable purifying treatment: the feedback we get from our managing activities, in particular of those plant we designed and realised, is the only key to improve them continuously.
This results in the analysis of real parameters, studies on the basis of data collected, the dimensioning of the varying purifying phases and the elaboration of graphic materials. Our proficiency is essential to identify innovative technical and, mainly, functional solutions, with a particular reference to upgrading interventions of existing plants.
The internal chemical laboratory and its staff allow us to conduct prior pilot tests on wastewater to treat, and the immediate analysis of relevant results helps us to find the best possible solutions. We have at our disposal many pilot plants to set in site and evaluate to scale the effective functioning of the solution that we designed in real operating conditions.
We propose ourselves for critical assessments and experimenting of technological solutions and processes recently launched on the market to evaluate their functionality and performance.
REALISATION OF TURNKEY PLANTS, EVEN PREFABRICATED, MOVABLE SOLUTIONS
We design and realise civil and industrial plants of all the potentialities by applying both the traditional technologies (continuous activated-sludge, SBR activated-sludge, chemical-physical) and the most advanced ones (MBR, MBBR).
We intervene in the upgrading/enlargement of existing plants, and we can offer a complete turnkey service that stretches from designing, realisation to monitoring, maintenance and plant management.
As a consequence of the increasing request of wastewater treatment plants in isolated communities, or villages where no public sewage is available, we enlarged our activity comprising the production of prefabricated, even movable wastewater treatment plants by means of the most advanced technologies available. Our aim is to provide efficient, reliable and easy to maintain solutions, which offer, if need be, the possibility to recover/reuse the treated water.
Different technologies may be used for this kind of realisations, depending on the application context and objectives to reach. In particular, the membrane technology (MBR) and moving bed reactors (MBBR) are adopted in consideration of their efficiency against of the volumes occupied.
UPGRADING OF EXISTING WASTEWATRE TREATMENT PLANTS
We are particularly skilled and own a great experience in dealing with existing wastewater treatment plants in order to improve their capacity or efficiency, even from an energetic point of view, by means of the most recent technologies and purifying processes: it is often possible to increment significantly the capacity of a treatment plant without adding new tanks and avoiding further construction works.
This is possible thanks to the purifying technologies which offer an increased purifying efficiency, and, therefore, require reduced volumes against an equivalent performance.
For this reason, these advanced technical solutions allow to reuse existing spaces and tanks, making available new spaces to increase the capacity of the plant avoiding the extra costs and intrusiveness of a new construction.
SUPPLY, MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING OF MACHINES AND EQUIPMENTS
In case of faults, failures or malfunctions in treatment plants the intervention shall occur almost immediately through operations of supplementary maintenance or substitutions of electromechanical and electrical equipments.
We have a workshop dedicated to the servicing and maintenance of pumps, compressors, as well as movable units used as a workshop for maintenance and supplementary interventions on site, which are equipped with specific mechanical and electromechanical equipments, lifting appliances, instruments for measuring electrochemical and electrical parameters, specific spare parts and what is necessary to carry out interventions.
CHEMICAL AND BACTERIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS
The management of wastewater treatment plants ends with the chemical analysis of waters in the different phases of the purifying process, from the inflow to discharge.
A rigorous laboratory activity lies behind the overall control on the purifying efficiency, thanks to chemical analysis, whose frequency is proportional to the respective environmental danger as a result of discharge. Analysis results may confirm the quality of the purified water, moreover, they give precious evidence on possible corrections to make to the process settings. Therefore, it is essential to receive an immediate response: an adequate service of management needs an internal laboratory.
Our chemical laboratory is equipped for the analysis of the most common parameters to determine the effective quality of wastewater.
Our strengths are flexibility and alertness that allow us to complete a chemical analysis within a short period of time (subject to the analysis’ correlated timing), especially when critical situations occur, following the entire process from sampling to issuing the relevant certificate compiled by a qualified professional.
The same laboratory represents an essential support for all the activities of experimentation and research, as well as the testing ground for new technologies available on the market, that we always test before offering to our customers.
