Oniverse Calzedonia completed the construction of a new textile factory in Tunisia, so there was the need to treat both industrial waste water and domestic waste water from workers (about 500 people). The Client focused its requirements on the local water shortage from municipal network, as well as its cost, requiring to reuse as much treated water as possible in factory production.

Aiming to maximum water reuse rate, we designed a biologic waste water plant with high efficiency based on MBR (Membrane Bio Reactor) ultrafiltration technology for clarification (itself already capable to discharge water suitable for irrigation purposes), coupled with final Reverse Osmosis finishing for industrial water reuse. About 60% of waste water is now reused in the industrial process, reducing at the same time the operation of water softeners, because reused waste water has been already removed from salts. R.O. concentrate is directly discharged in the sewage because its quality complies with local regulations. WWTP has already been prearrenged for doubling it’s treatment capacity; the system has been running since November 2025, and it’s equipped with telemetry for remote supervision and operation adjustments.
